The AquaSenseTM Control Unit is installed anywhere between a timer and any new or existing sprinkler valve, and is connected to a moisture sensing probe buried in the ground. When the timer activates a sprinkler valve, the AquaSenseTM Sensor Unit reports the level of moisture in the soil and sends that information to the Control Unit. If the soil moisture is above a limit the valve will be kept closed. If the soil moisture is below the limit the valve is allowed to be open as directed by the timer. For help in installation click here for text and video.

AquaSenseTM can also work without a timer. Simply attach a 24VAC transformer to any accessible wall outlet and run a two-lead wire to the Control Unit at the sprinkler valve location.

AquaSenseTM is an economical solution to the increasing costs of water and the need to control urban runoff. In fact in some locations it is now mandatory to control urban runoff. The simple, robust design of the AquaSenseTM system allows it to be set once and stay in operation year around..

The AquaSenseTM system is designed to be used with all soil and plant types. Due to its advanced and patent pending sensor element the AquaSenseTM requires no calibration or maintenance and is powered by any installed timer (no batteries required). The Control Unit is fitted with a sensor LED to indicate when the unit is engaged in overriding the valve operation. There is also an on/off switch if there is a need to bypass the system. The Sensor Unit is connected to the Control Unit with a readily available low voltage pair of wires. All other connection points of the Control Unit are clearly noted in the User’s Manual & Installation Guide. Simply place the sensor in the center of an area covered by a sprinkler valve and run the pair of sensor wires to the Control Unit. The Control Unit latches directly to the valve wiring.
